What is Supportive Care?


Supportive Care is care offered to improve the quality of life of people who have a serious or life-threatening illness. The goal of supportive care is to prevent or treat the symptoms of the illness, side effects caused by treatment, and psychological, social, and spiritual concerns related to the illness or disease or its treatment as early as possible.

 

What is the Delta Supportive Care Centre?


The Delta Supportive Care Centre is a 3000 square foot centre located in Tsawwassen, BC. It is ground level so it is accessible to all. It provides a coordinated source of information, referral, education and support to enhance the abilities and energies of individuals and family caregivers.

Professional counselors and trained volunteers work closely with the medical teams and offer support at the Care Centre, in homes, in residential care facilities, in hospitals and in hospice residences.

There is no charge for Information and support services, counselling and equipment loan.
