The goal of the Delta Hospice Capital Campaign is to provide access to many of the hospice services in one central location so that all members of the care team will contribute to creating a centre of excellence for the delivery of hospice palliative care in Delta.

The Centre will be one of the public’s first access points to information, resources, care and support for issues related to serious illness, advanced illness, end-of-life and bereavement. The project will be located in Ladner, BC, a central location to all three communities within Delta:

The Capital Need

Fraser Health Authority will not commit any funds to new capital projects. Therefore, Delta Hospice will need to raise funds for the subdivision of land, design, construction, landscaping, furnishings and equipment for both the hospice residence and the Supportive Care Centre.

As the earnings from the Delta Hospice Cottage Thrift Store provide the majority of the operating expenses of the existing Care Centre, we need to turn to our community to raise the capital requirements through donations from individuals, corporations, groups and foundations.

We ask our community to support this one-time capital requirement to ensure Delta has its own hospice facility and services for people throughout serious illnesses, advanced illness, at the times of death and during the difficult and painful phase of life called bereavement.

Ways to Give

Give as an Individual

Individual donors make up the largest portion of the capital campaign. We have already received donations, immemorial donations and bequests from people who are grateful for the services and support they have received. You can help by sharing the story of Delta Hospice with your friends and neighbours. As a registered charitable organization, the Delta Hospice Society is authorized to issue tax receipts.

Make a Corporate Donation

Most corporations have charitable donation programs. Ask your company to support us. Large corporate donations can be pledged as a one-time gift or over time and will be provided with an official charitable tax receipt.

Reason to Give

For those diagnosed with cancer or other life-threatening illness, it can be a very frightening and confusing time. It can impact family members, colleagues, friends and neighbours.

Support during this time can make a difference in one’s future health and well being. For those who are dying, it is a time for looking back and remembering ~ for saying goodbyes ~ for saying what needs to be said. This can be an all too brief time that the dying and their loved ones cherish. Hospice is a sanctuary of hope that facilitates a gentle closure to life, with comfort ensured, values and decisions respected and families supported.
