Delta Hospice Society

Dec 2009 - Christmas Music and Dessert Evening supports Delta Hospice

Celebrate the Christmas Season at Cedar Park Church on December 12th at 7:00 pm with an evening full of beautiful Christmas music and desserts. Special guests Ruth McGillvary and Nelson Boschman will highlight the evening’s program with their musical collections while proceeds from the evening will go to support the Delta Hospice Society.

This evening is a wonderful opportunity to embrace the Christmas season and support the Delta Hospice Society in the final leg of fundraising towards completion the hospice residence and centre for supportive care.

Several local musicians have joined together to create a Christmas compilation CD that will be available for purchase by donation that evening at Cedar Park Church and the week of November 30th at the new Centre for Supportive Care at 4631 Clarence Taylor Crescent. 100% of the proceeds of CD sales will go to the Delta Hospice Society.

“Delta Hospice Society has had a tremendous impact on the lives of many people in our community at a time when they are most in need”, says Brad Funk, co-chair of the Christmas Music and Dessert Evening. “Having recently toured the new hospice facility I was struck by the many programs that were offered such as grief support groups, art therapy, walking groups and vigils. We could not think of a more worthy organization to support.”

“We are fortunate to have the tremendous support of Cedar Park and the community attending this event”, says Nancy Macey, Delta Hospice Executive Director. ‘We are so honoured that so many talented musicians have donated songs to this CD that will be on sale that evening and we hope everyone can join us in supporting this endeavour’, she adds.

The Christmas music and dessert evening is in its third year at Cedar Park. There are only 180 tickets available and each year the event sells out shortly after tickets go on sale. It is recommended that tickets be purchased early. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by calling Cedar Park at 604-946-7410. For more information about the event visit www.cedarparkchurch.com.
