Sally Alston Sally has lived in Tsawwassen for 19 years, raising three children and assisting in handling the day-to-day operations of the family’s property management and construction business. An experienced board member, Sally has sat as a Director of the Marpole Women’s Auxiliary for the past seven years and has coached volleyball, basketball and soccer in our community over the past ten years. |

Marty Reynolds Marty, his wife and their two children (now adults) moved to Tsawwassen in 1973. He has spent most of his career in the securities industry and has been an active volunteer for the YMCA. Marty has served on the board of the YMCA of Greater Vancouver for the last 13 years, and was Chair of the Board for 3 years. Much of his focus has been as a volunteer fundraiser and Marty was Co-Chair of the Capital Campaign to build the Tong Louie Family YMCA in Surrey. He was also a member of Capital Campaign Cabinet that raised funds to build a new Downtown YMCA in Vancouver and he continues as Chair of the Major Gifts Cabinet for the Vancouver YMCA. Marty was recently elected Chair of YMCA Canada. |

Michael Rudd Michael has had extensive experience operating his own graphic design and marketing company, has served as a Director at The Delta Chamber of Commerce and three years ago opened Open Space Yoga in Ladner. As a Director, with the Chamber, Michael chaired its communication committee which won several awards from the BC Chamber of Commerce. Michael has won the Chamber’s Hats off to Excellence “Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award” and after establishing Open Space Yoga has won the Delta Optimist’s Readers Choice Awards for three years in a row. |

Peter Sweeney Peter recently retired as the chief Building Inspector for the city of Vancouver and has served on the Building Officials’ Association of BC as secretary and vice-president. He has also been a board member and secretary of the Fraser Golf & Country Club. As a resident of Ladner, Peter’s family of boys was raised in our community and he is involved in charitable activities at the Sacred Heart Church. |

Lesley Toigo Lesley has raised her large family in Delta and has spent many Mom hours at team sports. Lesley began working with the Delta Hospice Society in 2002 to assist our Hospice Cottage Volunteers to manage the huge volume of donated inventory. In 2007 Lesley left to allow more time for her busy life and to care for her mother who was about to undergo surgery. Lesley’s vow to return as a volunteer when time allowed is now being fulfilled by her willingness stand for election to the DHS Board. |

Jan Winfield Jan received her education in England where she apprenticed in design engineering drafting. She came to Canada in 1972 and worked in geological drafting and raised her family of 4 children. Jan later started her own business and for 6 years was President of the Marpole Women’s Auxiliary, a charitable organization that raises money for the George Pearson Center and the GF Strong Centre. Jan has coached soccer, volleyball and basketball and is currently a volunteer at the Hospice Cottage Thrift Store. |

Nancy Macey Having earned a BSc in Rehabilitation Medicine from UBC, Nancy raised her family in Tsawwassen and became the founding Director of the Delta Hospice Society. Nancy served as DHS Board Chair 1991/1993 and resigned when she was hired as Executive Director in 1994. The Executive Director is appointed annually to the Board as Secretary and as a non-voting member.

Sharon FarrishSharon has extensive work and volunteer experience in the not-for-profit sector. Having served on the boards of the Delta Community Living Society, the Executive Committee of the National Board of Directors of the Make –a-Wish Foundation of Canada, and the Western Association of Directors of Volunteers, Sharon is knowledgeable of the Carver model of board governance by which the Board of the Delta Hospice Society works.
