Social Worker or Clinical Counsellor
The Delta Hospice Society is looking for a full (1FTE) or part time (.8 FTE) Social Worker or Clinical Counsellor to join our team of skilled hospice palliative care staff. As a member of the Hospice Palliative Care (HPC) Consult Team, you would provide assessment, counselling and referral of patients at the end of life and support for their families in North and South Delta communities, Delta Hospital and the Irene Thomas Hospice.
As a member of the Delta Hospice Clinical Counselling Team, the role includes support for people living with cancer or other serious illness from time of diagnosis, and includes individual and group support in the community or the Centre for Supportive Care.
Suitable candidates should have a Masters of Social Work or MA in Clinical Counselling (or equivalent) from an accredited university plus a minimum of one year’s related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Skills and abilities include awareness of community resources, strong collaborative skills and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. RN / Clinical Lead (South Delta)

The Society is seeking a number of Society members who live in Delta who are willing to be interviewed by the Board’s Nominating Committee for consideration toward nomination for Board service over the next three years.The Nominating Committee want to attract people who are visionary, have a positive attitude, are open to opportunity, are team players and who have an interest in making the community a better place.  Candidates should be able to listen well and give thoughtful consideration to issues.  They must be interested in leading and governing rather than being involved in how the organization functions on a day to day basisThe Board follows a policy governance model designed to empower Board members to fulfill the Society’s obligation of accountability to the community.
