Expressive art therapy is a natural way for people to express themselves and is extremely helpful for those who find it difficult to talk about illness, grief and loss. Children, teens and adults have access to support using art and/or play as a means of communicating their feelings, needs, or concerns. A special art play therapy room has art supplies, books, nature table and sand tray as well as other options which are available when working with one of the counsellors. The space created is one of safety, security and privacy.
Music therapy is also used to create healing when words are difficult. A Music Therapist can provide a meaningful time with reminiscing, allowing for feelings to come, and journeying alongside people using instruments and vocals. Clients and patients are also welcome to play an instrument or sing if that is meaningful to them.
