A variety of services and resources focused on providing information and support for those living with cancer or other progressive life-limiting illness, or experiencing grief, are available for our community. There is no charge for these because of Hospice Cottage Charity Shoppe revenue, and the generosity of our volunteers, and community.
Harold & Veronica Savage Centre for Supportive Care.
Our care team of counsellors, staff, and volunteers works closely with the hospice, hospital, and community medical staff and also offers support through our Centre for Supportive Care, outreach programs, and our Hospice Residence. The team reaches out to provide care in homes, treatment centres, hospitals, hospices, residential care facilities, schools and in the business community.
The Centre offers information, resources, individual, family, and group counselling, complementary therapies, respite, and companioning through illness and bereavement.
Irene Thomas Hospice
The Irene Thomas Hospice offers a peaceful, comfortable, home away from home where people and their families can be in the last months or weeks of life. Experienced nurses, counsellors, support staff, and volunteers work together to enhance a person’s experience in finding comfort, meaning, dignity, and hope at the end of life. All care needs are provided including home-cooked meals prepared in the hospice kitchen.
A nominal daily fee, mandated by the Ministry of Health, applies for hospice residence stays. Please call 604.948.0660 if you wish more information about the fee.
